We always suggest you call or email PC&C for repairs to stamped, stained, colored, etched, or sealed concrete.

For simple repairs, like a chipped edge on a driveway, almost anyone can be the "fix-it" artist!

Try some of the following idea's:

  • Clean the area thoroughly with water and a utility brush.
  • Almost everyone has the tools/utensils lying around to do a quick fix. Old butter knives, spatulas and other kitchen accessories can really come in handy.
  • For duplicating lines or stone edges, a piece of straight beveled and sanded thin wood (like a paint mixing stick) can do wonders for matching existing patterns. Lightly oil the wood using a vegetable oil to keep the concrete from sticking and dragging on the wood piece.
  • Use an acrylic concrete adhesive to help secure your new patchwork to the damaged area. A light coating of this on the affected area prior to patching helps seal the concrete from cracking further.
  • Concrete patch repair (quickcrete)can be bought pre-mixed or in a dry powder form ready for adding aggregate. Take your pick, and remember that as concrete dries, it becomes lighter in color. Use no more than a 3/4" size aggregate rock/stone when repairing.
  • Colored concrete pigments can be ordered online, but in a pinch, raw artist pigments or acrylic based artist paints can be used to 'tint' the patching concrete. Experiment first for several days to make sure that the dried concrete looks as close as possible to the affected concrete. This can get a little spendy as well!
  • Apply only as much concrete as needed. The less you use, the less there is to clean up!
  • Allow at least 24 hrs. for a proper set.
  • A sponge and a very dilute mixture of Muriatic acid and water can work wonders for blending the new concrete with the old.
  • For larger areas and decorative concrete overlay application damage, please contact PC&C to schedule a repair estimate. Stained concrete overlay is much more difficult to repair!
